The juxtaposition of these three ‘houses’ fascinated me. I recognized the little shed as a symbol from my dreams immediately. At first I shied away from painting it, but felt myself drawn to it again and again as I walked around the yacht basin looking for my painting.
Finally I selected this view, head on with the little shed dwarfed by the oversized house with turret. Tucked between it and the sailboat it seems a lesson in contrasts. I guess if this were my dream, I would say the boat is ready to sail ~moored at the little dock waiting for it’s owner to come rig it up and take off!
In a dream, houses represent ‘where my consciousness dwells.’ So this painting speaks of the contrast between the boxed-in little shed and the big spreaing new house with the observation peak! The woman in the shed lived down in the landscape. The woman in the big house has a clear view in all directions. (continue reading…)
