I just delivered 18 new paintings to Greenleaf Gallery at the Outer Banks (Duck, North Carolina) for the opening of their new season. The gallery opens on March 20, so stop in and enjoy the show.

The Boatyard (left) is one of three I did en plein air several weeks ago. Since I don’t usually paint boats, I enjoyed the challenge of this change in venue.  I made several charcoal studies before I began to paint. With these I reduced the myriad of boat details to abstract patterns.
